Club Fees Summary

Club, Team Fees and Expenses

The Mavericks competitive soccer program is the highest level of competitive play available with the biggest time commitment for players and families.  The competitive program requires more games, more practices, more travel and more field time. Because of the higher level of activity and use of resources, the annual fees to join a competitive program are usually higher than most recreational teams and programs. The Mavericks welcome all soccer players who have the skills, commitment, and determination to play at the competitive level regardless of ability to pay.  To facilitate this philosophy, the Mavericks offer financial scholarships to help offset annual fees for families who meet the financial criteria.

Mavericks Annual Club Fee:

The annual club fee is paid directly to the Mavericks.  The fees pay for practice and game fields, coaches, equipment, clinics and academies, youth coaches program, referees for games, US Club and NorCal registration fees, and other club expenses (e.g., insurance and other overhead).  There is no additional charge for team camp (a half-day week long camp typically held sometime mid-July to mid-August).  These fees are due when a player agrees to join a team and must be paid before a player pass can be issued – that is, payment of the Mavericks Annual Club Fee is necessary before a player can play in a game.

2017/18 Mavericks Annual Club Fee Changes

Recently all Norcal clubs voted to transition to a new tryout schedule that aligns with the rest of the country and is part of the US mandated changes. Where in previous years all younger players would try out at the beginning of the year prior to the spring season, the new transition requires all players from 2018 onwards to tryout in May and June. For 2017 and part of 2018 this will have a slight impact on all club annual fees. For players born 2010 - 2004 the Mavericks Annual Club Fee for one time only will encompass three seasons (Spring 2017, Fall 2017, Spring 2018) For players born 2003 and older there will be a one-time spring fee for all current Mavericks players to pay before March 6th. This fee will take all players through to their next tryout window. After this, the players will go back to an annual two season cycle. Mavericks Soccer Club has worked hard to minimize the impact these increased fees will have on families.

The Mavericks Annual Club Fee is broken down as follows:

Age Group

Total Cost

(Thru to May 2018)

7v7 Teams

$1625 (3 season program)

9v9 Teams

$1850 (3 season program)

11v11 Non-NPL Teams

$1825 (2 season program)

11v11 NPL Teams

$1975 (2 season program)

* Fees do not include winter/summer league or associated costs.  Additional coaching and resource fees would apply for teams playing additional seasons.

* Graduating High School Seniors who will play spring but not fall will be given a discount on the annual fee.

* A 50% scholarship rate is available (see financial aid information below).

Individual Team Fees:

Team fees are typically paid to the team treasurer or team manager.  Team fees are managed and handled by each team independent of Mavericks.  Teams in consultation with the Mavericks technical director and director of coaching, decide on the team’s soccer activities for the season. There can be considerable variability in costs between teams.  Examples of expenses covered by team fees may include:

  • NorCal State Cup registration
  • Indoor (Bladium or Futsal) registration
  • Tournament registration fees – (3-5 tournaments per season)
  • Coach travel expenses for out-of-town tournaments
  • Additional equipment, such as goalkeeper gloves, over and above what Mavericks club provides
  • Trophies, photos or other team gifts

Uniforms:

The Mavericks have only one official style of uniform and require all Mavericks teams and players to purchase and wear the current Mavericks uniform style.  Teams are responsible for ensuring that all players wear the current Mavericks uniform.  Parents are responsible for the cost of uniforms.  The minimum uniform that all players must have:

  • Shorts
  • Two jerseys
  • Socks

Uniform sets typically change every 2-3 years.  As costs continue to rise, average current uniform cost  (before tax) is approximate $125.  Optional accessories available for purchase include Warm Ups (with embroidery), Ball Bag Backpacks (with embroidery), or sweatshirts (with club logo).

Please refer to the UNIFORM PAGE for more details.
